About Me

Hey there! I’m Maggie, and I’ve been a nurse since 2009.  I’ve since worked in various hospital settings, but primarily in progressive and critical care. I’ve attained my CCRN, former TNCC holder and am a certified preceptor.  Currently I am working as a Central Staffing ICU float RN at Michigan Medicine. I’m also attending Vanderbilt University to complete my MSN. When I finish up,  I will be continuing my career as an Adult-Geriatric Primary Care Nurse practitioner.

My journey to joy within nursing has been littered with peaks and valleys. It has also been filled with a LOT of reflection about the type of nurse I want to be. Like all of us, I’ve had good days and bad days. I still remember one shift I had where I almost quit nursing altogether (also I thought I was getting fired, thankfully I didn’t).  Through all of those challenges, I discovered the only person in charge of how I feel about my career is ME! I’ve since been empowered to take back my joy, and learn to love my job again!!

I do love being a nurse. I am genuinely honored and humbled to care for people in their worst moments. I’ve grown incredibly adept at guiding patients and their families forward.  Much of my passion lies in teaching and supporting new nurses. Helping to build the foundation they need to turn their love of caring for others in to a true vocation. I hope to also encourage my seasoned peers, offer some advice, and help us all gain satisfaction in our personal nursing practice!

Thank you for joining me in this joyful journey, I am so glad you’re here!!
